How do I know if my 1996 Nissan Maxima needs a new Serpentine Belt?
You replace your serpentine belt every 60K or when it breaks or has lots of cracks in it. Sounds like your overdue. Check your pulleys and tensioner while your under the hood. That might your squealing noise. Probably one is seized up putting a drag on your belt making your car stall.
I tightened the tensioner. This seems to have done the trick, However, I intend to replace the belt, if needed or not. When doing this I will check the pulleys.
