Sounds like the transmission is either low on fluid or its on it's last legs.

Do you mean your stopped with foot on the brake and the car is lurching forward?

Kinda sounds like a Master Cylinder might be failing to me. Hard to say from the brief, ambiguous problem description. Can you tell us more about what your Aerostar is doing?
