Typically when that happens it's either no spark or no fuel. Since most newer vehicles have coil packs instead of just one big coil, I will go with a bad fuel pump. Try putting your ear to the gas tank filler hole and have someone turn the key to Accessory. See if you can hear the fuel pump humming. If not, your pump is either bad or not getting power. Check your fuses and relays. May be a bad fuel pump relay.

Check this link. Might help you locate the correct fuse. http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/2002-2006-nissan-altima-discussion- 2-5-3-5/307347-location-fuel-pump-fuse.html

I hear a noise when I turn the key for the fuel pump where can I locate my distributor cap

Newer cars don't have distributor caps anymore. They have individual coil packs to each spark plug. Kind of like each plug has it's own coil. Is your check engine light on?

My 06 Altima is doing the same thing except sometimes when trying to crank it I don't here the fuel pump kick in. Service engine light is on as well. It usually cranks after the fuel pump kicks when I and I hold the gas pedal half way down.

I recently just bought a 2006 Nissan Altima and it worked fine until yesterday when I would try to start it three times and nothing happens. Then usually the fourth try it will turn on. What does this mean?

My Nissan had the same issue turned over but wouldn’t start. Replace the cam positioner. The magnet goes bad.
