2002 mitsubishi eclipse rod Knock

Asked by Mitsuman Mar 01, 2019 at 02:48 PM about the 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. It just developed rod knock about a week ago. I haven't driven it since. Are there any fixes for this without taking out the engine?

1 Answer

If you can remove the oil pan with the engine installed you could install a new rod bearing but it probably would only last a few miles. Time to rebuild the engine!
