The check engine light is on what could be the problem. Just bought this vehicle

You may already know but if the gas cap is off it will make the light come on & sometimes it takes a day or two for the light go off. If you brought from a dealer, then bring it to him and let them scan the code to find the problem. Otherwise, take it to a auto parts store and they will come out and do the scan for you & tell you why its on, for free.
