Windshield Wiper Switch

My 2000 Cougar's windshield wipers only work in the fast position. Any suggestions
on if this would be a switch or motor problem?

I had the same issue in my 2002. In my case, it was a switch problem. I took it to have it looked at and the guy literally just smacked it a couple times like it was an old TV and it started working in all positions again.
