Vapor lock

Asked by Collie88 Aug 19, 2019 at 05:53 PM about the 2001 Mercury Sable LS Premium Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 mercury sable that vapor
locks. It has over 235,000 miles on it. I drive
it 1000 miles a month for work. I live in North
Carolina where the summers are little brutal.
The car will start vapor locking on me in April
and will stop around October. What is the
best way to fix this issue? And is it worth me
putting the money into fixing this issue?

Try servicing the cooling system to get it to run cooler. Insulate the fuel lines if you can to keep engine heat out.

even a spacer or thicker gasket for the throttle body , We referred to vapor lock as the gas tank not being vented , fuel would get pumped out with no return air . but what ever
