Honda CRV (2016-2018 1.5T engine) has a oil dilution problem.

What is diluting the oil? Gasoline? Whatever is going on there is not good and I would turn in a warranty claim before doing anything that would void the warranty.

Actually, there is a well known problem for these cars (aparently there may be also a class action lawsuit!!!) Just wanted to see if increasing the viscosity a little, may make the situation better. I change the oil myself at 5k miles and there was about 1 quart more oil (mixture) and it smelled like gasoline. (if interested, google honda oil dilution)

thanks "tennisshoes". Honda's response is ...this is normal! I got this car to replace an oooold one (with 330000miles) and she's still going strong! Guess i'll keep on driving the old lady!

I've had a civic since 2017 I've always used synthetic oil and put midgrade gas, I've never encountered that problem.
