Why on my 2005 f350 super duty power stoke gauges are going to zero unlite and than coming back on olny when headlights are on and why one battery is running hotter than the other

The battery problem may be causing the other electrical problem. If those batteries are more than four years old, the one running hot probably has an internal short. It will soon die and kill the other one too. Have them tested and if you have to replace one, do both at the same time. This situation is putting an unnecessary load on the alternator too.
