Replacing an oil pan

Asked by Adahlstrom Oct 22, 2014 at 04:19 PM about the 2004 Mazda MPV ES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mechanic said my van needs a new oil pan. There was a bit of smoke coming from the right side of the engine after a short drive but the van wasn't overheating. The estimate is for $1,800 because he said he'd have to take the engine out to get to the oi pan. Is this correct?
