Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The shifter will not shift, we want to take off the console to see if something is stuck in the shifting path.

Hi how_do_ya! This can be a tricky procedure, especially if you want to put the console back together again afterwards. This is a case where you want to talk to a dealer to get a hint of how to get started. You may also want to try you local library or local big box parts store to see if you can find a Chilton's for your Optima. That may have a removal procedure as well. Good luck!
