Question type: Maintenance & Repair

seems to have no ground for the fuel pump relay if I run a jumper from the battery to the relay ground the pump will run

Interesting. You jump from neg-- black on battery to relay? And it only then runs? Any part of the car that is steel, iron aluminum whatever will serve as ground, coming from battery is interesting and confusing at the same time. A relay is just a switch, example, the wires in the ignition switch re not big enough to carry the necessary amperage to crank the engine, so a small amount of power is sent to the relay aka solenoid to make a connection

not if it finds its ground the go through a pressure switch that needs to see pressure to close inorder to make a ground like maybe a fuel pressure switch that's not working right

Ok fuel pressure regulator is switching the pump off. Fuel pressure regulator is likely the culprit. Possibly high pressure? Technical and physical testing would be required. U smell gas in the exhaust? How ever if it was high pressue u may have gas in ur oil which will thin it smell around...

do you have any idea where that switch is located I have looked all over and can't fined it

I swapped relays out with a couple that I know were good and I know the new pump is working because I took the gas line off and it pumped a good flow of gas this all started after renewing the fuel filter last week end

So where did all the parts on your car come from? What state was it built in? On the window sticker it will spell what % of USA parts are on the car.
