Often times if the car sits for too long or if you run it out of gas the fuel pump picks up dirt, gas deposits, or sediments from the bottom of the fuel tank which will also clog injectors making your car not run at all. Hopefully for you, the fuel pump is killing and has not let that gunk get to your injectors or your problem will be even worse. What I'd do is empty your fuel tank completely after taking it off then hose it out thoroughly making sure its not only clean but dried out well before putting it back. The fuel pump, well it would be nice to have another new one as well. Purge the injectors just in case the gunk got up in there- it probably did- then put everything back together, put some fresh gas in it, and it should work well again! Good luck!
