Misfire in cylinder #3 causing Check Engine light to come on. How can I fix the misfire to get the light to turn off?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought an '05 Kia Rio with 110,000 miles on it. It has the Check Engine light on
and the code reads a misfire in cylinder #3. I changed the spark plugs and wires,
hoping this would solve the issue but the light remains on. I do not notice any rough
shifting or driving. It actually drives very smooth.. I don't know what to do. I need to get
the light to turn off so that I can finish the transfer of title. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated... Thank you.

Did you clear the code with the scanner? Since the light is still I'd Scan again and see what code you get, might be a different one.

Hi Tom, I went to get it re-scanned and this time it showed a misfire in cylinders 1 & 3. I went ahead and reset the codes so the light turned off. I figured since I had just changed out the spark plus and wires, i'd double check them. So i did and they were not calibrated to specs. After I did that, the light stayed off but when I went to move the car the light was on again.
