How many miles on the engine, what kind of maint usually done on it? Usually a clicking or ticking sound from the engine could indicate a bad valve lifter, especially a hydraulic type that leaks down oil pressure or has become stuck in the depressed position. Could also be a worn camshaft lobe or a worn bearing in the engine. Have you checked the oil level recently?

161, 000. Had a guy tell me it could be a motor mount. I checked the oil and everything

Tasha, without looking for myself, I couldn't say if you do need a motor mount(s) replaced or not, however no motor mount or mounts should cause a clicking or ticking sound from your engine at all. What they could cause is a bang or thud type of sound, but only when you switch from one gear to another, unless they are completely broken and your transmission is constantly moving around while you are driving, which is rare. It could also be a failing oil pump, causing the engine to run hotter than normal because the oil is not pumping thru the engine at the right pressure or at constant pressure, which will eventually make the engine begine to knock quite loudly as it starves for oil and it will eventually seize up, but what you described does not sound like that is the problem. Take your car to an auto parts store like Autozone, O'Reilly's or advance auto parts and ask them to put a code reader on your car and read you the codes. Those stores do this as a free service, hoping you will buy the parts there. Write down all codes shown, in the order they show and post them back here so we can get you going.
