drivetran noise

Asked by mikepyle Apr 28, 2009 at 01:51 PM about the 1993 Honda Accord Coupe LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When accelerating I have a drivtrans knock.  How do I fix?  There is no noise when at low rpm (under 1500)

it sounds to me like a a transmission problem, not drivetrain. The gears are probably slamming together rather than a seemless transition. Under 1500 rpm, a honda motor is barely breathing and probably barely in 1st gear. That's why you hear nothing. That's hardly above idle (700-750rpm). Take it to a Transmission specialist to have looked at. oh, have you ever so much as changed the tranny fluid?
