Does the engine sound like it is laboring under a load or is it revving fairly freely? If it is revving fairly freely then the chances are high that the tranny is going bye bye. If it is laboring then check for locked up parking brakes, you can reverse with it set but not go froward.

Thanks tennis shoes it is a sad day then because i fear you r right ... it has to be the tranny because the tranny was slipping really bad a few weeks back ... there is or was a ,well there still is a trans leak ...but it does sound as if it is laboring under a very heavy load. And there also sounds like there is a very large air leak .... i cant tell though cause i am working on it myself ...i will check to see if maybe the breaks are locked up first .my hope is ...is that is the problem... My thanks for all you help
