My abs light is on in my 1998 Rodeo. is there a way i can disconnect something to make my abs light go out. I have to bring my car in for inspection and they will not pass me if abs light is on.

No, you will need to fix or replace the wheel sensor that is probably causing the light to come on. What you want to do is totally disable the ABS system which isn't advisable. Yearly inspections on your vehicle is for your safety and others on the road. Did you know that since the light is on now, you will have your regular braking but in an emergency your ABS sytem will not activate?
Try cleaning the sensors located in the wheels themselves. 9 times out of 10 brake dust and dirt block the signal and the light comes on. BTW even if you could turn off the light without fixing the problem the code is stored in the cars computer.
