i bought a vehicle from the auto sheriff in denver colo. i found it through your website it did not pass emissions i brought it back the first day.. can i sue them for avoiding my phone calls & not telling me where the car is its been 3 weeks

No, if you bought the car "as is", which I'm assuming you did on a 1996 model, the seller isn't liable at all. Go get your car, have it repaired, enjoy it, and live happily ever after. HTH. -Jim
