Asked by Jul 28, 2015 at 12:54 PM about the 2000 INFINITI G20 4 Dr STD Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A/C doesn't work and I would like to use a recharge kit from an auto parts store.  The car
is awesome at 198,000 miles other than no A/C

Should be instructions on the can, you hook it up to the low pressure port of the system. It might only be temporary as if it so low the AC doesn't work, you have a big leak. Maybe time for a new hose or O-rings. Best to have the pro's do it IMO.

Thanks Tom. Fan blows but only hot air ?

I don't think it's a leak but haven't had it tested either

Most likely can be a leakage through the o-rings. Try to fill the the valve of the compressor with coolant. Than turn the A/C to the max amounts let it run, check the A/C Compressor than try to get a spray bottle with water and spray all around look for signs of leakages, most leakages amongst the compressor hosing are due to old o- rings.
