Car won't heat up in winter

Asked by Jan 10, 2014 at 06:39 AM about the 2000 INFINITI I30 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Infiniti I30 and in the winter time it don't seem to warm up very fast and
the temp gauge stays on the C side when moving but if I sit and idle for 10-20 mins the
needle creeps up to about way up. Could the thermostat be bad and if yes are they
hard to change?
Thank you,
Jim Z.

It very well could be the thermostat, maybe even low coolant.....

Thanks Tom but the coolant level is good so I guess it is the thermostat?

Most probably. The Stat sounds like it's stuck open. It's a good starting point, have some coolant to replace when you do the procedure.
