Battery disconnection necessary in an old car?

Asked by Philippe Sep 19, 2018 at 02:51 PM about the 1986 Chevrolet Chevy Van G20 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1986 Chevrolet G20 Van with a 5.0 V8. I don't use the Van for a couple of months. Do I need to disconnect the battery? I wonder because here in Los Angeles it doesn't get really cold and the car is so old, it has no electronics that sucks a little bit of energy permanently.

1 Answer

It would not hurt to disconnect it. There still could be a small battery drain.
