I have a 1989 Chevy Scottsdale shortbed
but I'm in need of a new motor but I don't
know which one is the original since it's
been swapped out twice, I look up Chevy
Scottsdale 2500 and it brings up 1500

Try using a VIN decoder, this will normally tell what engine was originally installed.
