Od off light

Hi I have a 2000 focus 2.0 automatic . Od off light
cane on by itself. Pressed of button nothing
happens checked fluids  there topped off.
Disconnected of button to attempt to override no
success car wont go into od any suggestions

the OD light on means there is a fault code stored in the system related to the transmission, scan for the OBDii trouble codes to determine your next step.

Hello first of all thank you for answering. Secondly I just connected the obd2 reader a basic scanner . But no cel codes were found

Didnt need too Mr Kenny answered in carros very helpful the following was his answer."I think you have a button that is shorted. This is a normally open switch which means the PCM is not getting a voltage signal but when the switch is closed it get a signal on this circuit and turns off OD.  If you can't get codes the best way to test this is to measure continuity on Pins 5 and 6 of the switch in both switch positions. If you have continuity in both positions then this is your issue. You should have an open in one position and continuity in the other" problem is solved now and o.d is working properly

Did the process button was working fine so I cleaned and reconnected and boom it worked
