What could cause my Hyundai XG350 to have a burning smell? It is the smell you get immediately after firecrackers has gone off.

My car runs well most of the time. I recently noticed a burning smell in the car. Itis not constant and usually occurs when the car has been running for a while. Whe the car stops the hood ishot to the touch. Recently the smell occurred whenI started the car. Then it went away but came back after about 10 moinute. Ihavenot driven the car since.

Usually smells like that are associated with the catalytic converter. It may be on it's way out or the fuel mixture is wrong. Get the codes read at the parts store.
