My 16 Altima had the same problem. My brother Nissan dealer parts manager) said that there was a problem with the stop lamp switch/relay. Brake lights dont turn off when you take your foot off the break pedal. Car won't accelerate if it thinks the brakes are still on. Replaced the part and no problems since. FYI part # on my bill is 25320-ax10a

Im afraid to say the problem will come back. It is a CVT PROBLEM ON THE CAR. THEY WONT YOU TO DRIVE UP THE MILES LOSE WARRANTY AND PAY FULL COST. NO FOR ME! I CHANGED CVT TRANSMISSION TO MY AVAIL IT WORKED FOR 1 .........DAY.....THEN LOSS OF POWER COMING TO RED LIGHT AND CUT OFF. TOOK BACK NOW HEAD GASKET. OH NO. DROPPED INSURANCE ON CAR TODAY. CALLED FINANCE COMPANY THEY SAY I HAVE A 2500.00 WARRANTY BUT NISSAN DEALER SAYED I DONT. NOW THAT I TOLD FINANCE COMPANY. THEIR TRYING TO WORK SOMETHING OUT. GET YOUR WIFE OUT THAT DANGEROUS UNPREDICTABLE CAR. ITS NOT WORTH HER LIFE. NOT FOR A BUCK!
