Need Hatch Open and Interior Dome Light OFF for Camping

Question type: General

I need to turn OFF the interior dome light and still have hatch open for
camping. There is no "off switch" in my model. I've tried a few easy things
I've seen online for this general problem, like walking away from vehicle with
key FOF, but nothing has worked. Should I find/pull the fuse? Owner's
manual says that "overhead console lamp" is in an "instrument cluster" that
also includes AC controls and several other things I'd rather not mess with.
Would it be better to just remove the light bulbs? Would that cause any
issue with the battery? Is there a trick I'm missing??

I found the opposite problem. Could not find how to make the dome lights go on when I opened the doors. I found that one of the switches next to the dome light allow the lights to be automatic or off. I have a 2017 Kia shortage. Good luck, hopes this helps! Bill

When the hatch is open, close the hatch locking mechanism manually and it will register the hatch as shut. Before you go to close the hatch when you are ready to leave, be sure to close the hatch slightly and press the rear hatch button to reopen the hatch locking mechanism to ensure your hatch actually shuts and latches.
