Subaru Forrester

Asked by Wings99 Jan 02, 2018 at 08:49 PM about the 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5i Convenience

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had the battery replaced and now the check
engine light, low tire light, hill assist light are all on
and the x-mode and cruise control are blinking.
Neither work . Subaru wants $130 just to
“diagnose” the problem.  Since it happened nano
seconds after the battery can’t they just reset?
What is going on?

Is the CEL on? Regardless, disconnect the negative and reattach to see if system will self- correct. If CEL is on then have it scanned. If car starts doesn't sound like an accidental polarity reversal took out the fusible link.

The CEL codes can be read for no cost to you at your local auto parts store

For less than a hundred dollars you can buy a scanner and read the codes and reset them!
