Kia Sorento burning oil.

Asked by Farmer3345 Feb 29, 2020 at 06:55 AM about the 2016 Kia Sorento EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our 2016 Kia Sorento is burning 1 qt of oil every 500 miles.  We took car to
dealer to find out why the Sorento was using so much oil. The service
department couldn’t tell us why that was happening. The service manager told
us not to add anymore oil to car and bring it back when the engine starts
knocking. He said that’s the only way Kia will fix the problem.  They will put
new engine in car once it starts  knocking. Sounds crazy to me.

Those things are junk , as a vehicle gets popular they make as many as they can , then quality takes a back seat , I think if it starts knocking and you expect a new motor they may say you voided the warranty by not having it serviced , If you're using a 0W oil you may want to use a 5W , but even that may void the warranty . I wouldn't drive a newer car of any kind , not with the tech. over kill they put on them , it's all B.S.

TRY LUCAS OIL STABILIZER IN THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE PROBABLY HAS OIL CONSUMPTION. VW AND AUDI HAS BAD OIL CONSUMPTION. THE LUCAS OIL STABILIZER DOSE HELP. THE DEALER DOSE NOT KNOW NOTHING, UNLESS THEY CAN PLUG THE CAR INTO THERE SYSTEM.
