My 2001 Ford Focus Electronics.

Asked by Apr 22, 2014 at 11:39 PM about the 2001 Ford Focus ZX3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I lost power to my interior lights, my rear windshield wiper, my front wiper intermitent
option, all at the same time.  I have checked the fuse panel and all fuses are intact.  What
could be the problem?

most cars have two boxes one under hood and one in cabin

It sounds to me that you have a short and i do believe it has nothing to do with the fuse itself. try unhooking the battery first for 30 minutes. after the 30 minutes is up, reconnect the battery and check all of your accessories. If it is still doing the same things, then you need to go through all of your mini fuses to see if they are burnt or the pin is broken.

I had similar problems with my 2001 Focus Hatchback. I didn't bother with the fuses because I looked inside the wiring cover above the lift-gate and found SEVERAL broken wires! I did some splicing with similar wire remnants and wrapped the repairs securely. TADA! The rear wiper worked again and other problems disappeared. Good luck. - A DIY Mom.
