Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm going to be straightening the bent hood hinges on my 57 chevy tomorrow
and I'm wondering what kind of seal or sealer/sealant to use where the hinge
bolts to the cowl.  There is still some sealant on there and is a whitish caulky
material almost like glazing compound.  Much appreciated!

Well, I've been told by several people that pretty much any sealer will work; caulk, glazing compound, plumber's putty etc.
