Trying to help a buddy with his transmission.

I’m trying to help a buddy out with his auto trans,
he was told by someone that only a ‘95 trans will
bolt up to a ‘95 which doesn’t sound right to me
but could be. I guess I just want to know if that’s
true because looking for someone that has such a
specific car part is really difficult because he’s not
wanting to have to buy a brand new one.
