What can I do to get my door ajar light to go off

I bought this 01 escape.. I have 3
other ones.. Ones for parts.. My door
ajar light stays on without the key
in.. I have a driver's rear door that will
not open but all others do.. Could
that be the problem

quite possibly on the rear door issue. Check all the latches. Sometime they break and or get dirty. Spraying some wd40 in them helps clean out the contacts.
