Starter issue for 2015 Hyundai Elantra

Asked by KMSchrage Jun 10, 2018 at 05:37 PM about the 2015 Hyundai Elantra SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a 2015 Elantra. When it was purchased, we noticed the key had to be
turn almost 270 degrees to start the car. It would also take 3 times before car
would start. 1 mechanic said it was starter coils. They were replaced 3 times.
Thought it was fixed, but it is still doing it. Suggestions? Ignition barrel?

It does sound like the ignition switch itself and needs to be checked out with a multi-meter to make sure the starter is getting the voltage from the ignition switch.
