What is the towing capcity of a 1989 Chevrolet V1500 4x4 Suburban?

Asked by Melissa Apr 25, 2020 at 03:47 PM about the 1989 Chevrolet Suburban V10 4WD

Question type: General

Our suburban has a 3/4 suspension system, and didn't come with the original
owners manual or plates with the information on it. My partner and I have been
asked to assist someone with towing a trailer and I don't want to overload the
truck as we restore it.

I doubt I could find the exact spec on the web but depending on the engine and gears, 7,000 pounds is probably safe. Make sure your engine and transmission cooling are in good shape. Use trailer brakes!
