Why won't these dash lights go off?

Asked by Angie Nov 08, 2021 at 01:13 PM about the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS

Question type: General

These lights came on yesterday morning
when I started the car & never went off.
I've driven 2 more times since then & they
all still come on & won't turn off. We had 2
nights in a row of below 40 weather. I live
in Southwest Arkansas. Everytime that
happens, the tires go low but these other
lights have never come on.

An eight year old Hyundai. That's about when they start to fall apart.

@ed92626 .... I know that one of them is the TPMS. We had a small cold snap the previous 2 nights before I took this picture. At least one of my tires goes low almost every time the weather goes below 40. It has done that ever since I've had the car, doesn't matter what kind of tire or the age of the tire. I figured out which one was low & aired it up. The other 3 lights have never come on & stayed on. They are now off. I have had routine maintenance done on this car ever since I've had it. I'm not sure what you mean by your comment "It does look like you maintain your car exactly like most Hyundai owners do."

It's not the same tire all the time tho. That's what's so weird. Apology accepted ...

TPMS sensors are very sensitive to tire pressure. When the air is cold the tire pressure will decrease because, like everything else, air contracts when it's cold. If you're driving somewhere to put air in the tires add 4 PSI to the inflation pressures shown on the doorjamb sticker. You need to do that because even driving a short distance will warm up the tires and the air inside of them. The ABS and traction control lights are on together because the two systems work together. When there's a problem with the ABS, which is usually a wheel speed sensor or the wiring going to it, the traction control system is disabled as well. Hope that helps! Jim
