Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Having engine light problem with my 2014 Santa Fe Sport- Took it into the dealer, where
they took some time to find the problem. When they did ,they said a rock had damage the
protection panel where the engine light system is located and now I will need a new part.
Of course it is not under warranty as it was caused by outside influence??? Any
thoughts..

You are stuck with any damage , just like if you wrecked the car. How expensive is the repair? If it is ridiculous and you can say that it was a driving accident then maybe you could turn it in to your insurance. That is if the deductible isn't too much. Just a thought.
