Is the plastic / rubber dam at the bottom of the front bumper essential to cooling or aerodynamics of the truck. I'm considering taking it off?

I am sure it contributes to the aerodynamics a bit, probably not that much. If you remove it keep an eye on the temp gauge if you are concerned about engine cooling.
