Possible transmission fluid?

Asked by Feb 20, 2016 at 04:55 PM about the 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So last night I managed to dodge a crossing moose and
hit a snow bank instead. When we managed to pull my
Nissan Altima out there was some red fluid on the ground.
Once I moved the car there wasn't any fluid leaking
anymore, when I parked it last night I checked again and I
was still in the clear. I checked again this morning and no
leaks. Not sure what happened and any help is
appreciated!

Also, the car drove fine other than it shaking once I went a faster speed(realignment?).

I would definitely get the car up on a lift at your local garage. You might have damaged a transmission cooler line and you don't want to run the trans low on fluid and burn it up. The shaking is probably due to a mis-alignment now that you hit something, but more so you might have bent a part, get that checked as well. Maybe a control arm, tie-rod end or the wheel itself. Just be glad you didn't get hurt or the moose. :-)

How much would you say those would cost to repair? And yeah if I hit the bull it easily would've taken off the top half of my car.

Hard to say, because I don't know what is damaged. An alignment will run you around $80-$100.
