Can a bad fuel pump cause a noise?

I have a 2014 Ford Fusion and I think it needs a fuel pump.  Can this cause my
car to make a weird noise?

In the fuel tank area. But usually fuel pumps just quit working. I have seen very few make any noise before going out.

Other than the normal running sounds, I've never heard a fuel pump make noise. You're likely hearing noises coming from the exhaust system or the rear axle. The car's front-wheel drive, so it's probably not too serious.
