Why my headlights cause my car to lose power?

Asked by Anthony Feb 23, 2023 at 12:07 PM about the 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I’ve had some electrical problems with my car
and if I let it sit and get into it, it starts up fine but
when I go to turn on my headlights I lose power to
my dash my locks, rear defrost like some stuff
works some doesn’t and when I go to park it locks
it self in park so I know that I probably have a sort
somewhere but I wanted to see if anyone on here
could maybe help me locate it easier I’m lost atm
so any help will be appreciated thank you

You'll need an honest technician , This is not a job for johnny jerk wrench . You could look around for any obvious electrical problems but if you can't use a multi tester then good luck

If this is a retired police cruiser you have your hands full.bought a retired crown Vic from municipal auction ao many gremlins ended up replacing dash to rear harness.
