I've got next to no heat inside truck wants to overheat

So my truck runs at normal temp when driving but blows hardly any heat
blows cold when idling and when idling wants to overheat slowly if I give it
gas even at standstill goes back down to normal running temperature

When the rpms increase, the water pump speeds up and so does the coolant flow. The rpms go down, the water pump slows down. On a warm engine, are the heater hoses hot? You may have to check circulation through heater core. Another thought, maybe a problem with temp door, under the dash?
