Heater/AC Fan Issues
I have a 2003 Taurus. Three days ago on my way to work, I used the heater and fan. On
my way home the heater turns on (I can hear it) but the fan does not work. I can turn the
knob but nothing happens. I have also discovered that I can turn the fan to the right to in
higher levels but cannot turn it to the left to turn on the fan only. Do you feel the switch is
the problem or should I look else where?
Can you turn the blower on at it's highest setting? If the lower speed setting do not work, but the highest speed setting does, the problem is with the blower resistor. If none of the blower speed settings work, the problem is lack of voltage (meaning a blown fuse or bad switch or some other electrical problem) or a bad blower motor.
When I turn the blower switch on to any setting, I get nothing. It will only turn to the right and will not turn left to the fan.
So you can't physically move the switch to any of the settings to the left? If that's the case replace the switch, in my neck of the woods an auto dismantler shop (not a boneyard) charges about $10 per dashboard switch assembly.
