Can anyone help - I have a 1989 F150 xlt lariet 4.9l stright 6. It runs really well till it warms up. I have replaced the following: new low pressure in tank fuel pump - new fuel filter x3 - new complete distribtor - new alternator - new battery - new plugs - Cats are clear as we dug them completely out and then welded them shut (both of them) Air flow at exhaust much improved. - - - This Trk starts and runs really strong when Florida cold. It varies how long it will run but not long then it starts to die as if it is getting fuel starved. Last time it did it I crawled under the trk and high pressure fuel pump is cool to the touch - filter was clear and I could blow through it both ways ------- ANY SUGGESTIONS???????

I have now replaced the coil on someones suggestion. It did not help.

The throttle body runs on Temprature. Check you mass flow sensor, it regulates the gas per temprature of car. I have a 1995 F150 with the same engine but my problem is 1) it has dual gas tanks and the fule pump is losing its pressure sending an alarm to the "Service Engine" light. You can always go to Auto zone a nd have the codes read if it is sending codes.

One question gas carbed 4.9 it's timing been wronne for ever snug at tdc timed on 10 btdc and it's use flat fast uphills step down plenty power but now drops so first to what I did how do I get lower back that had new parts starts drive s fine no someone else had first rattling so quest how time for faster hills not drop it's 4 speed 4x4 78 f100 all rebuilt
