Diet or regular soda? The easiest solution is to buy a new or rebuilt carburetor but leave the soda in the fridge. Replace the catalytic converter as the truck will never run right with a bad one.

watch that tune up...there is a reason why the catalytic converter is burned...a volatile mix of gas goes to it and gettin hot burns up inside the converter...the float level is critical business...stickin' would advise a rebuilt carb...gotta be tons around as we seem to have gone to fuel injection since the 80's~ don't drink soda...it is not healthy...juices instead..odwalla~
