Fuses keep blowing for the fuel pump

The fuse to the fuel
pump keeps blowing
causing the vehicle to
shut down but the fuel
pump still works fine if i
run a hot wire to it

May have a short along that wire harness. Also take a good look at the fuse block itself, an older vehicle like yours you may find corrosion or moisture getting into it and causing blown fuses.
