1996 dodge dakota over heating and the fan is not working

the truck is overheating when going slow or stopped plus the fan is not working

Some makes and models, if you turn on ac, the fan will run. Sometimes if you unplug the coolant temp sensor, the fan will run. Any applicable trouble codes? I saw several possible codes listed for radiator fan and circuits. How hot does it get in degrees F? If the radiator diagram is correct, you can see the fuses at top left. You can see the fan relay, if you unplug relay and use jumper wire between the load side cavities, the fan should run. In the diagram for relay, the top part of relay is the load side. Sometimes you can use jumper wires from battery to fan, voltage and ground, just to see if fan will run. If it won't run, the fan is faulty.
