Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Service battery charging system. I was driving and got
that message. Then eveything lit up and all systems shut
down. Tow truck was able to jump it with their and it
started right up no problem after he adjusted the voltage.
And it stayed on. But mine wont start it and barely had
enough to put the window up. Its obviously not the starter
and and the battery isnt that old. Only thing i can think of
is the alternator. But not sure. What is your opinion?

It probably is the alternator, that is the major part of the charging system.

I agree, sounds like the alternator. When the alternator quits the vehicle runs off the battery until the battery is dead. Most batteries have a 90 minute reserve capacity. What that means is if your alternator fails you can continue driving for about 90 minutes with your headlights on and all the accessories (radio, heater, etc.) off until the battery is dead. Hope that helps! Jim
