Car cut off

Asked by GuruK5XSG Dec 02, 2019 at 10:26 AM about the 2013 Hyundai Sonata SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was driving my 2013 Hyundai Sonata about 45 MPH, in a straight stretch,
and it completely shut off. When I tried the push button to start, the starter
was trying but wouldn't turn over and it started smoking (the starter) There
was no loud noise, there is oil in the engine, and it did not overheat. Is this
something anyone has heard of? I checked and there are no recalls. The
steering coupler is bad, but I don't think that had anything to do with it.
Ideas?

we have had this problem 4 times now. 1st 3 times they ultimately said it was the transmission and replaced it twice. This is the 3rd transmission and it has happened again. Now they are stating it is the Hybrid Power Relay and Safety Plug and my warrenty is out by 2k miles. They want to charge me over 1400.00 to repair and i don't have faith that is is the actual problem. I am VERY Disappointed with my vehicle. Looking for answers myself.

I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata once I cut my car on it won’t cut back off unless I unplug the battery can somebody give me an answer on why it’s doing that
