Don't do that!! There is no way to disable it. It is there to ensure that you wear your seat belt. Wear your seat belt. It might just save your life...

These are both bougus answers. First, of course there's a way to disable it. It's an electronic part, not God. Second, a "noise" provides no safety, only the seat belt that it's chiming about provides the safety. I've been driving for 35 years and don't need a reminder beep, maybe Adam doesn't either. And if he owns a Kia, his seatbelt reminder noise probably malfunctions, as does mine. Then, the noise is a distraction and becomes a safety hazard, not a safety devise. If you don't known the answer to the question, just say so, rather than sermonizing.

I'm so sick of people posting on these threads and preaching seat belt safety notices. What are you even doing on this forum, what brought you here? Have you nothing better to do than to scour the internet looking for opportunities you can be annoying and unhelpful? Now to the actual discussion... I often drive on dirt/back roads, I hate wearing a seat belt and often avoid it. My Kia Sorento chirps like a robin in Spring time. There must be a wire I can detach or some sequence I can use to stop the chime. I have a Subaru XV and all I had to do was turn the car to "On" and plug my seat belt in 20 times in 30 seconds to stop the chime. There must be something like this for the Sorento so I don't have to find the speaker that makes the chime noise and blast a screw driver through it. Thanks for your HELP.

I have not read all the answers and not telling everybody to do this but if you're the type of person that doesn't wear a seatbelt and you would like the sound 2 stop go to a junkyard cut you the old male connector piece off an old seat belt keep it in your console all you do and inserted in the seat belt and it'll cut the sound off that's just an answer to the question not a recommendation LOL I know how some internet Warriors are. And sorry if there's typos I use voice to speak when I'm driving and Google does not understand Southern twang
